Halloween & Edinburgh Meetup ∣ Coords

In October, the Alt Night Market was back, so I organised a fairly laid back meet for the comm to go there. I'd wanted to wear this combination of my Moitie JSK with my Moitie socks for a while, and since this is an alt market I decided it would be a good time. I probably should've waited though, because I just got some Moitie bloomers which would've looked cute too lol. I thought my red hair would add a nice gothic pop of colour to the coord, and added a vintage rose brooch to tie it in a bit more.

There was actually another market on in the area earlier in the day, so a few of us went there in the day time before parting ways and meeting back up in the evening for the night market.
The night market was great, we drank gothic cocktails, got delicious street food, and looked around all the stalls. Some of us got our inner demon drawn too which was so cool.

Towards the very end of October I had quite a busy day. In the evening was my comm's halloween meet, but in the day I had plans with friends to go to a vintage kilo sale. I put together an easy comfy punk coord and made it extra sapphic with my lesbian angel and devil Putumayo top, as well as a bustier handbag I'd recently bought. Annoyingly I somehow managed to hold it facing backwards while hastily trying to get coord photos.
I got some good finds at the kilo sale!

Later that same day was my comm's halloween meet. Naturally, I took this as an opportunity to once again wear guro lolita, because I love it, but it's hard to get away with wearing any time other than halloween. I wanted to go back to basics again and do the classic white with blood look, with black shoes for good measure. Since I've worn my Bla Bla Hospital nurse hat for the last several guro coords, I thought my bunny bonnet would make a cute headpiece.

The meet was a lot of fun! Helena brought a whole table of snacks and another of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and organised some fun games for us too. We had a good number turn up too. The venue was a wing of a school we had to ourselves, which made for some good creepy photos.

I love this polaroid I got so much

I thought it would be cute to make our silly photos into a gif

In early November I took the train to Edinburgh for the day. Laurie had organised a meet with the Scottish comm for me, as I thought it would be a nice idea to get some more shots for a zine project I'm working on.

I decided to wear my Maxicimam OP, as it's been a few years since I wore it last. I wore my gobelin Wirehead headdress as it matches the OP so well, plus the black ribbons tie my black socks and shoes in more. Since it wasn't going to be wet, I wore my Miho Matsuda devil boots. I have to take the opportunity anytime it's dry lol. It may have been a mistake because by the end of the day my feet wear so sore, but it was worth it for a cute coord.

First on the agenda was the museum of childhood. I've wanted to go since I learned about it as it has loads of antique dolls as well as other cool vintage toys. I absolutely adore antique dolls. Of course we all got photos there, and I got a few with Kate in particular as we both looked rather doll-like in our ringlet wigs and oldschool florals.
One of the staff members was very excited by us which was very sweet!

After that we made our way to a fancy hotel where we had a booking for afternoon tea, where we were to meet up with even more lolitas. The group was absolutely huge, I'm not sure whether this is what it's always like for Scottish meets or if it was just because I was snapping for my zine. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone I already knew, and meet lots of lovely new people too~

We got some group photos but not before a good number of people had already left

After the afternoon tea, a lot of people left while some of us went to the John Lewis haberdashery as I had a lot of time to kill before my train. It's way better than my local John Lewis haberdashery, there was so much stuff! More left after that as by now we were all pretty exhausted, however I still had time to kill before my train (this ticket was significantly cheaper than all the other available times rip), so Laurie, Ajax and I sat, decompressed and got some tea close to the station until it was finally time for me to leave.

I had such a lovely day in Edinburgh meeting with the Scottish comm! I'd love to go back to Edinburgh again soon~

Below are a ton of photos I took at the museum, for anyone who also enjoys antique dolls:

As always, I'd love it if you would leave a comment if you enjoyed this blog, it's always nice to see~!
