Coords From Winter to Spring!! (Jan-April)

This winter I've been doing what I often do and hibernating and haven't worn lolita much, and then as spring came I got super busy with life stuff, so this blog post will share my coords from January through April.

In January I went to a vegan food festival with some friends where we tried lots of delicious food. I'd recently bought this black Cornet skirt so put together a nice coord with it. I keep buying kuro skirts when what I need is another black skirt with white lace lol.
I gave my coord a cross theme, with my cross necklace, crosses in the print on my socks, as well as crosses in the lace of my blouse and bloomers~

Here's my favourite two things we tried:

Then in February Helena hosted a meet for lunar new year, where we went for Chinese hotpot. Since it can be a bit messy, I went for a kuro coord as black is more forgiving to possible stains. I decided to go for my Cornet OP with raschel accessories as I feel like they go with the organza of the skirt. I also realised my hair is long enough to do the updo I used to do!

The hotpot was delicious as usual. The restaurant does a split pot, so we had half that was veggie and half that wasn't. After food we got coord photos and headed to a cafe to chill out and talk more. My hair looks a little silly in all the outdoor photos because it was drizzly so the air was pretty damp :<

Later in February I had a sewing lesson and then plans to get food & play video games with a friend, and decided to put a coord on. It's been a while since I wore my AP sailor OP so I decided it was time to wear it again. Now my hair is red it matches the ribbons on the dress which is a cute detail. I also bought some red RHS a while ago so they were the perfect shoe choice~

I didn't have time to get photos on my camera but I did get a few on my phone.

For food we went to a new pho restaurant that has opened up and it was so delicious I've had the same thing twice more since then haha.

In March I met up with a friend so I decided to put together a coord with some new pieces. I'd recently bought this gorgeous wirehead skirt 2nd hand which I was so happy about as I loved it every time I saw coords with it; and coincidentally a listing for some Jane Marple socks with the same medical cross motif came up on Mercari, so naturally I had to get them. I decided to go for a theme of both medical crosses as well as angels and demons. I was worried it might be a bit too much but I actually really like how it looks worn!

Still in March, I organised my first Sunday Dinner club with some friends. Basically once a month a group of my friends and I plan on going to all the places that do vegan sunday dinner in the city. I threw together a simple cute black and white coord, and realised my hair was long enough to do another hairstyle I used to do!

Then Ria came for a day trip to Newcastle! We spent the day looking around various vintage, kawaii and alt shops in town and catching up, as well as of course getting some photos together. It was so lovely to see each other again as we hadn't since before winter~!

I decided this would be a good time to put together a "proper" coord with my Meta OP, pairing it with various raschel Meta accessories and a ringlet wig. We ended up matching quite well as Ria is in her goth era right now, so we both had black coords. On the downside, while planning this coord I noticed that the big lace and small lace on the Meta set are different colours, and now I can't unsee it. It's sort of ridiculous considering how much it cost. I feel like matching the lace colours on a dress is sort of bare minimum.

In the evening we met up with Ruby and got dinner before Ria got the train back home. We actually went to the same pho place as I did earlier in this blog haha~

Then in early April it was Helena's birthday. She invited some friends out for Korean BBQ and drinks. I decided to put a nice coord together with my floral AP OP. I also wanted to try this new brown ringlet wig I got from a taobao shop. The sausage curls are perfect, but I don't know if I like the fringe on me, I wish it was a full fringe. Still, it's nice that somewhere other than Maple now offers oldschool appropriate ringlet wigs; something about only one place selling them and Maple not restocking all the colours put me a little on edge lol.

After the meal, some people went home and the rest of us headed to a new bar in China town and hung out there, where I remembered to take a couple of cute photos (though no coord photo oops, at least I took some emergency coord photos on my phone before leaving).

The following weekend I organised a meet up to a Museum and botanical garden in another town. We had a meet there I think back in 2016 so I thought it was about time to go there again!

Since both Zoe and I got the Antique Bouquet OP in the re-release, we'd planned to twin. We tried to make our coords as similar as we could with what we had. We went without the capelet, as I didn't get one unfortunately (if you want to sell me the capelet in green pls message me 🙏), and both wore the matching headdress. For socks, I had plenty of options, but we decided to go for these printed socks- the print is different but they have a similar vibe. For our jewellery we went with a crown theme, and we also both wore matching La Luice bunny backpacks.

Unfortunately I didn't notice that in our photos together my sleeve was folded up ;A;

We took our time taking our coord photos and taking some cute videos and looking around the botanical garden. The vibes in there are so lovely!
We also went up the stairs to the upper level and went around once. After the gardens, we decided to have a look around the rest of the museum. There was a whole section about mining, since the North was practically built on mining. There was also an exhibit on china (like crockery not the country), and a section of lovely paintings.

Eventually we headed to a cafe for a late lunch. I chose a place with a very pretty menu, which happened to be directly across the road from the museum! We're lucky we got there when we did because they were about to close early as they were quite empty.
Once we were all done, we got a few more group photos which I'm glad we did since I look a bit goofy in the earlier one. A seagull joined us for the silly group photo lol.

As usual, please do leave a comment ^u^

  1. Long time reader (I drabble in old school pieces myself) and I usually am too shy to comment but after reading through this time around I had to compliment your new ringlet wig! It's honestly so pretty and I love the side bangs. Maybe it's because side bangs were so popular in the early aughts but but I think it suits you and old school styling perfectly! It's as if the wig was made for that op. It also is a nice change from what we usually see with ringlet wigs at the moment.

  2. Antique Bouquet is so beautiful!
Have you ever described what makeup you use? You look like a porcelain doll.
