Twinning Meet, Kamikaze Girls & More ∣ Coords

At the end of June I was invited to my friend Minty's birthday, so I decided to put together a coord with the tartan Baby JSK I recently purchased. I noticed it had the same lace as one of my blouses, so decided to wear them together. I love black and white socks with colour coords, though I didn't notice until I'd left the house that the lace is a lot more offwhite than the blouse or the lace on the JSK, so it looked kind of grubby :<
Also I tried something sliiiightly different with my makeup

There were a lot of people I didn't know very well, but it was lovely to meet them all. We got food at a Japanese restaurant, before heading to a cool arcade bar. As you can see it had UV light and the lace on my socks doesn't glow like the rest, so I guess that's why it's so different in colour lol.
For Minty's gift I gave them a bag I got from one of the hippy shops in Glastonbury, and drew their ILD coord on a birthday card.

At the very end of August, Ria came to stay because we had a historical costuming meet up (the blog will be posted eventually). The very next day was the 1st of September, and we had plans to hang out with Alice. Originally we were going to go to a market I thought Ria would like because it has loads of vintage knick knacks, but plans changed and we just had a chill day in town and ate some tasty crepes.

I had plans to wear yet another new purchase. This jumperskirt was a total bargain because it had a few stains; I'd finally gotten around to washing it, though the stains didn't budge. I just went for your typical oldschool coord. I had planned on wearing my ringlet wig, as I thought that wearing a wig the previous day with my rococo costume may have messed my hair up, but my hair looked okay so I decided to just do that instead. I like how it matches the jsk!

In September I hosted a twinning meet for my comm. I noticed I had almost two entire matching coords in different colourways, as well as several other doubles, and thought it would be fun. The last time my comm had a twinning meet was in 2015 or 2016, and my twin ended up being unable to come last minute, so I was excited to be able to do it again with an actual twin this time. Funnily enough I was meant to twin with the same person this time, and again they were unable to make it (due to illness this time), but fortunately Emily ended up RSVP-ing last minute so it all worked out and I was able to twin with her!

Both coords:
Headdress - Metamorphose Temps de Fille
Wig - Maple
Blouse - Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Apron - Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Skirt - Metamorphose Temps de Fille
Bloomers - Little Dipper
Socks - Angelic Pretty
Shoes - Antaina
Bag - Metamorphose Temps de Fille
Necklace - Offbrand

As I mentioned above, everything in both coords is mine, except for Emily's petticoat (which btw is glorious, I think her petti gives the coord such a cute shape! I'm a bit jelly). Obviously the shoes are slightly different, but it's the closest match I had. The blouses are also different, my original twin had a blouse similar to my square collar Baby blouse but obviously that didn't work out, so I thought my two BTSSB blouses would be the most similar despite different arm shapes. I do think my coord would've looked better with a black blouse but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also I finally got to crack open my new ringlet wig! It's so funny to see the difference 8 years of wear makes. I might need to give the fringe a powder though, it's so shiny! I had originally planned on wearing my black one, but I switched to blonde last minute.

It's really interesting to see how differently the same coord sits on both of us, especially when we're the same height and at first glance we're pretty similar body types. My bloomers don't even peak in my coord, even though they're the same ones as Emily is wearing.

I look goofy but oh well

After getting our coord photos and a group photo, we headed to a nearby cafe for lunch. I ordered an onion bhaji bagel, but when it arrived the bhajis were still raw in the middle 😭
The tea sets Emily & I each received our tea in matched our respective coords which was a fun coincidence.

Salo took this cute instax of us

Once we were all done, we headed to a local museum which has a bunch of old Victorian taxidermy. Emily and I filmed a cute little Animal Crossing tiktok which you can see here. Apparently that big crab is in ACNH (I'm only familiar with Wild World & New Leaf). I got a few cute candid photos too. It was so strange seeing Emily from the back because it looked like me! It was like having an out of body experience lol.

I love this candid I got of everyone!

End of day selfie.. tbh my coord looked better without the apron, maybe I'll wear it sometime

In early October it was a comm member, Lucy's, birthday. For it she hosted an oldschool themed meet up, a screening of Kamikaze Girls. Although I've already worn it this year, I decided I wanted to wear my Isabel OP again, as it feels so quintessentially old school, and I just love it so much! This time I wore it with my ringlet wig and black & white socks, and since I didn't need a bag with it last time I had a whole range to choose from; naturally I chose my favourite gobelin bag. I also thought my Miho Matsuda rocking horse shoes would be an interesting addition.

Headdress - Bodyline
Wig - Maple
OP - Baby the Stars shine Bright
Petticoat - Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Bloomers - Fanplusfriend
Socks - Innocent World
Shoes - Miho Matsuda
Bag - Vintage

We've been to this venue before as a comm, but the cinema room has been closed for a while as it was being renovated by the new owners. Now it has blue seats and a popcorn machine! It was actually quite a few people's first time seeing Kamikaze Girls, so it was cool to be there for that~

After the film, we headed outside for coord photos. I got some with Zoe since we were both in black and white. Don't we look cute? Her Kumakumya is twinning with her!!

And of course we got some group shots- some normal ones and some silly ones, as well as doing a shoe circle and a ring circle~
I headed off shortly after we got our photos, as I went to see a Kate Bush tribute band that evening.

My favourite he/him lesbians, Usakumuya and Kumakumya

I already have several more coords to post but I didn't want to have like 7 in one post, so I'll be writing the next blog post (hopefully) soon~
