In September I had plans to go to a vintage and craft market to see if I could find anything nice for my house. I decided to drop a message to the comm to see if anyone wanted to join me and we ended up having a chill two person meet.
With the weather being chillier but still mild I thought it would be nice to wear this thick gobelin jumperskirt again, this time wearing it with my lovely Jane Marple bolero. Since it was forecast to be pretty dry and the market would be covered I also wore my Miho Matsuda boots. I love how they add a slight edge to coords!

I ended up with some great finds at the market! For my house I got a working lamp (which I still need a lampshade for) which was something I'd been on the lookout for, as well as a cute cross stitch bathroom sign, a lovely tablecloth, a plate decoupaged with Victorian scrap, and even a vintage doll from the 1950s and an antique silk case. I also got a few accessories: an antique belt clasp for only a fiver, a chainmail handbag, and a cute compact mirror.
I thought this brooch would be a cute tie-in to the gobelin pattern~

In October the comm had a karaoke meet for a comm member's birthday. I wasn't feeling very well, but wanted to make it as I said I'd go. I put together a casual coord so I'd be comfy, with no pre-planning; it ended up sort of sweet-punk. I went for my tartan goodluck skirt as they don't require a petticoat. I tried a couple different cutsews, but decided on this printed vest as it looks cute under the BTSSB cardigan and I hadn't worn it in quite some time. I struggled with legwear but decided on black OTKs as I don't think perfect colour balance is necessary in a casual coord.
P.s. I now my fringe does not look good, I'm still new to curly fringe

Later in the month, Helena organised a cafe club meet. I put together a comfy casual coord with my Putumayo hoodie. It's a fine coord but not my best tbh, I planned on changing into a new cutsew I'd be picking up from Jordan at the meet; I'd designed the coord to work with both tops but in the end I didn't feel like changing. Also, I've been growing out my fringe to get it cut back in neater but I don't love how it looks in this coord, it's so hard to make work in lolita ; A ;

For the tea party I wanted to make an effort to have a good spread of gothic food. I was inspired by the recipes in the GLB, particularly the booby corset cakes and the angel and devil wing bavarois. I ended up delegating the corset cakes to Luce as I had quite a lot to make and they seemed quite complex, and I'm glad I did as apparently they really were; I think she did an amazing job though and it was so cool to have the iconic booby cakes from the GLB, plus they were delicious!
Other than those, I baked some coffin gingerbread (with real ginger), made some finger sandwiches with two different fillings- homemade olive tapenade and avocado, & pesto and tomato- I also made vegan cheese and chive scones (forgot to photograph RIP) and two different compound butters to go with them. I also had a platter of ~goffik~ fruit, some veg crisps, and some gluten free cookies.

I knew the old and new versions of the print were different colours but it's so clear when they're next to each other. The new one is so pale, whereas the old print is much yellow/greener. It's all a bit ironic that the "cleaner" looking colourway is called Antique Bouquet, while the grungier more antique looking one is just called Bouquet Print. I also did a comparison of the actual illustrated print, which you can see on my instagram stories highlights if you're interested- the 2024 one is redrawn and has several differences to the older print, apparently the redraw was done for the 2012 release.
The turnout to this meet was quite a bit smaller than the last twinning meet, which makes sense as I suppose there's only so many doubles people own and only so many people with the same print. So it was a small meet but it was fun. We went to an art gallery.
The exhibitions were A Joyful Parasite by Saelia Aparicio- this one played with light and shadows in a way I loved, and had cute and creepy little guys everywhere-, As We Fade by Saodat Ismailova- this one was film based, my favourite was the rows of projector screens with a projector at either end showing different films, I thought the way it faded was pretty-, and For All at Last Return by various artists - this was ocean themed and I swear had ocean smell pumped into the room; I loved the skeletons hanging from the ceiling.
Then in December it was time for my comm's ILD/Christmas meet. It was a simple afternoon tea at a venue we'd been to many times before. I decided to wear my Gobelin Print set, as I thought the red would be a little festive. My original plan was to just wear the skirt, as I always wear it as a set, however since we'd be sitting the entire time I eventually decided on wearing the blouse too. I wore the same accessories I'd been wearing a lot recently, as there's something nice about being able to have a fully raschel coord. The head bow is actually the brown colourway, but I think it goes well enough with the red set (I actually prefer the brown colourway if anyone wanted to do a trade lol- the old release not the 2026 re-release). My fringeless hair actually looked okay with the coord for once, although it would of course would look better with a fringe (you'll be pleased to head I have since gotten it cut back in).

The following day I had another Sunday Dinner Club with friends, and used it as an opportunity to wear some new pieces I bought. I put together a sort of punky medical guro coord with my new pieces, as well as my Wirehead skirt and some costumey socks (I tried other legwear but these just looked the best). I love the print of this cutsew so much, but I'm not sure if I like the cut on me tbh.
It's always fun wearing slightly punky or guro stuff in the colder months because I get to wear my Bla Bla Hospital scarf!
Sunday Dinner club was fun, we chatted for hours and I drank lots of mulled wine.

I decided to wear my velvet Innocent World jumperskirt for a Christmassy vibe, I've actually worn this JSK to Beamish before, but that was back in 2014 so I feel like I can wear it again lol. I've also worn the JSK with this capelet for Christmas before, but I wasn't a huge fan of that coord so I thought I'd pair them together again but improve upon that coord. I thought these Jane Marple socks in particular would really complement the coord and help it not feel overpowered by light colours~
We started at the Pit Village where they had a miniature Elf village in the wooded area next to it. Next we went to 1900s town where Santa and Mr Claus happened to be (of course I got a photo lol), and we looked around and got some coord photos. Sadly we arrived a bit too late in the day for me to get any of the amazing bread they sell in the bakery. We stopped off at the pub (yed Beamish even hs a functional pub!) for a while to warm up (it was SO windy), sit down, and drink some mulled wine (not as good as the place I got Sunday dinner imo). After that it was time to go to 1950s town, which is now completed. We looked around the new parts such as a toy shop with a doll hospital, and an electronics shop, as well as some little bungalows. I've included a lot of photos at the end of this blog~
Here's some photos I took throughout the day:
It looks like there's been massacre in that gingerbread house
And those are my last coords of the year! I suppose there's still time to wear one more, but it's unlikely ngl. As always please do comment, I really appreciate it!
I will get onto editing my historical costuming blogs and post them in the new year~
