Ever wondered where you can buy oldschool lolita pieces new? This blog will tell you everywhere I know of that offers old school lolita, from the major brands right down to the side hustle indie brands.
Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Baby often re-releases their most iconic oldschool designs. While the new versions may have slight design differences to appeal to a modern lolita audience, such as more room for a larger petticoat and new colourways you wouldn't necessarily see back then, if you're after some of the most recognisable oldschool designs, Baby is a reliable source. They also sell blouses, socks, headdresses and parasols that are perfect for old school.
Side note but what the fuck are they doing to this poor model's face? She looks different in every photo
Metamorphose Temps de Fille
Metamorphose will occasionally release the odd main piece or blouse that are appropriate for old school, but the star of the show is their raschel lace topped socks. The socks come in three lengths: Over the knee, knee length, and ankle length, and they make the perfect addition to an oldschool wardrobe. They also sell platform heels that are great for oldschool gothic.
Moi Meme Moitie
Recently Moitie have been re-releasing some of their most iconic old school designs. While some have complained about the difference in quality, many fans are happy their favourite designs are becoming more readily available. Not only that, but a lot of the other items they offer are great for old school too, such as some of their headdresses, bloomers, bags and jewellery.
R.R. Memorandum
R.R. Memorandum is an indie brand run by my friend Katherine. All of RRM's designs are designed for the old school lolita, catering to sizes S-XL. Previous collections of Royal Crown Valerie and Heirloom rose sold out quickly, though there are still a few items from the most recent collection 'Flowers for Charlotte' available. They also have a print on demand line for more casual wear.
Wirehead Shop
Wirehead is another indie brand with gorgeous designs, based in Lithuania. Unfortunately, they only put up a few pre-made one of a kind designs for sale at a time, meaning it can take some dedication to get a piece. I would say they have a signature look, with the shirred bodice appearing on the majority of their designs. They mostly offer dresses and sets, though also occasionally offer headwear and other items.
Sincerely Bluebell
Sincerely Bluebell is a fairly new indie brand that makes accessories, mostly headdresses. They've only released a few things so far, and from the looks of it each item is unique, and very cute!
La Luice
Ever wondered where everyone gets those bunny bags from? It's La Luice! They offer the bunny bag as a large backpack or a smaller pochette, in black, white, sax and pink; they've also offered a gobelin one in the past. Fun fact, the same bunny bag used to be sold by Metamorphose, and you can see them in some old street snaps. They now also offer a cat version of the bag and they also currently have an oldschool headdress for sale.
Rorita's Angel Wardrobe
This is another indie brand that has very limited, sporadic releases where each dress or set is unique. They also occasionally offer custom commissions; you can see whether they are currently being offered in the instagram description.
Moonrise Theater
Moonrise Theater is a Japanese indie brand offering main pieces and accessories that veer slightly more towards modern traditional lolita with very spacious skirts for big petticoats.
Marble
Marble is a brand that has been around since the oldschool days whose designs haven't changed much over the years. They may be an acquired taste, but if you love lace monsters then Marble might be for you. Not all of their current releases are oldschool, but plenty of their designs look right out of 2002! They offer main pieces as well as accessories suitable for old school, and something really great about Marble is they offer a LOT of products.
An tai na
Antaina is a taobao brand that sells shoes. A lot of their shoes are dupes of old designs by the now defunct An Ten Na which was a popular shoes brand among old school lolitas back in the early 00s... they also clearly took some inspiration with the name haha. The shoes are resonable quality for the affordable prices. So many of the shoes the offer are perfect for oldschool, with lots of chunky platforms, staples, and interesting designs. They also offer custom designs upon request.
Angelic Imprint
Angelic Imprint is another taobao brand that sells shoes. Their designs are somewhat similar to Antaina, with so many of them perfect for oldschool lolita. Their prices are affordable and the quality is good for the price. They also have an Aliexpress store which some may find easier to order from, and also offer customisations upon request.
Maxicimam
Maxicimam is another Japanese brand that has been around since the oldschool days. They sell several oldschool appropriate main pieces as well as blouses, cardigans, umbrellas and accessories under their sub-brands MA and MAM. Maxicimam also offers plus sizes called 'Lovely size'.
Rusanjin Room
Rusanjin Room is a Japanese indie brand. They are currently offering a limited time MTO of the two OPs above in the month of November. I'm unsure whether they will do a similar thing again but it's worth keeping an eye on.
Spica
Spica offers a great selection of bags, hats, and accessories for oldschool lolita with an edgy but cute vibe. Their webshop does seem to be stuck in 2003, but that just adds to it right? If you like mini hats, definitely check them out.
Maple
Maple is THE place to go for oldschool lolita wigs. They offer ringlet wigs in shoulder length and longer, hime cut, and curly lolita wigs, as well as pigtail extensions and other wigs and hair pieces. This is the only shop I know of that sells oldschool accurate ringlet wigs.
Rococo Heroine
Rococo Heroine is a taobao brand that offers a few really cute headpieces for oldschool. My favourite is the bunny eared mob cap that they offer in several different colourways.
Antique Beast
Glittertale
Jamgelic
Jamgelic is a small indie brand selling old school lolita skirts. While they haven't currently released many pieces for sale, they do have plans to release more in the future so they're one to watch.
This is such a good resource. Thank you!
